Lisa Ramos is an Afro-Italian American artist born and raised in San Francisco and Berkeley. She has a Certificate of Art from the California College of the Arts and a degree in illustration and painting from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City.
Her creative influences criss-cross all periods in art history from African or Asian art, Gauguin to graffiti, punk rock, hip hop, to jamdown reggae. Her illustration icons include Egon Schiele, Antonio Lopez, and the Hernandez brothers (Love & Rockets). She’s equally been influenced by the photography of Irving Penn, Richard Avedon, and Harlem photographer James Van Der Zee. When traveling she’s captivated by the beauty of humans and places.
The dynamicduo that is Customs: Nothing To Declare, is composed of Ileana Cabrera and Rae Einerson, both students with a passion for local music and vintage design. When their forces collided in the summer of 2005, they found inventive ways to fuse vintage rockabilly style with the modern lines of the DIY street punk convention to create a mature blend of fashion, music, and travel. Rae and Illy have created a series of original designs in addition to a number of couture cases that have been tailored to the unique taste of their clientele.
